Miss International Queen Laos wants to help disadvantaged children

The Miss International Queen Laos, Ms Minladar Engmany, has said she made new friends and spread the country’s culture while participating in the Miss International Queen 2022 contest in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ms Minladar Engmany promotes a Lao national costume.

Talking to Vientiane Times yesterday about her experiences at the competition abroad, she said she was able to tell contestants from around the world about Laos and its culture. The other contestants didn’t know much about Laos and its tourist sites.
She said her reason for joining the Miss International Queen pageant was to achieve her dreams and to overcome the negative attitude of many people, who felt that she couldn’t win the contest.
After the transgender model won the Miss International Queen Laos 2022 contest, she became the country’s representative at the regional round of the competition held in Thailand.
She received a special award after being declared Miss Congeniality in the final round of the competition in Bangkok. She was the first Lao contestant and also the first real size beauty to receive this special award.
“After completing the competition, I had a chance to join many events to help society. I became a presenter for products and I’m working in the Lao entertainment industry. Many people know about me and it has been a good experience,” she said.
Others wanting to join the Miss International Queen contest should be people who know that giving is better than receiving. She said she is proud to be a Lao national and that it was her kindness and giving nature that helped her win the Miss Congeniality award.
“Don’t compare yourself with anyone. Everyone has their own abilities and everyone is beautiful in a different way. Don’t be afraid about things not happening, just take action,” she said.
Ms Minladar recently participated in activities to help patients at the HIV/AIDS Prevention Centre, and she said that she now wants to join activities to help disabled and disadvantaged children.
She also wants to become a teacher of foreign languages for children, and to start a foundation to help society, especially to ensure disadvantaged children can access education.
“Children are the nation’s future. When they have a chance to access education, our country will have positive development,” Ms Minladar said.
