Short video contest winners announced
The winners of the short video contest on countering infodemic were announced on Wednesday at the Department of Cinema, Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
The short video contest on countering infodemic is a project to fight the spread of fake news that is affecting people globally, more so, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The spread of fake news during the pandemic led to misunderstandings and confusion.
Asean countries are organising this contest and selecting the three best short videos. The best videos will be shown at other Asean countries to emphasise the importance of disseminating correct information.
The three best short videos were announced at a ceremony. A short video titled “Hello Seng” by Mr Khamla Lao bagged first place. A short video titled “That’s a fake news” by Mr Dola Yoisaikham won second place, and a video “Know about fake news” by Mr Phongern Xayaphan won third place.
The Director-General of the Department of Cinema, Mr Khamphao Vannavong, representatives from the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, judges, and contestants attended the ceremony and congratulated the winners and runners-up of the contest.
