China Cultural Centre in Laos names winners of singing contest
The China Cultural Centre in Laos has named the winners of its singing competition after 10 people made it to the final round of the popular contest.
Mr Vorladeth Khanthasongsa was announced the winner, Mr Koun Chitthasone was named as the first runner-up, and Mr Fiji Hang was awarded third place.
The competition took place on Wednesday, with the event chaired by the Head of the China Cultural Centre in Laos, Ms Li Yiping.
The contest was an educational experience for the participants and followed the guidelines of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on deepening exchanges and shared learning between the Lao and Chinese peoples.
The event was organised to enable Lao people to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
The Centre opened the contest for registration on October 11, with about 80 people registering their willingness to participate.
The Centre then selected 50 people to undergo training in preparation for the competition itself.
An audience of more than 100 attended the competition and were enthusiastic in their appreciation of the efforts of the contestants, with the event proving to be a great success.
