Singers promote Lao music on Thai TV show
Million of viewers tuned in when Lao singers Sophana, GX2, T-James Uno, Bigyai Seehalad and Nutdao did an interview on the Thai variety television programme “Supermum” last week to promote their music.
The programme was broadcast on the WorkPoint channel. The Lao singers spoke about the songs they had recorded to provide happiness and entertainment to their Lao and Thai fans and to promote the music of Laos.
They thanked their Lao and Thai fans for loving and supporting their music and for helping their tracks achieve hundreds of million of views on YouTube channels.
They said Laos has a population of only seven million and Thai fans played an important part in helping their songs achieve hundreds of millions of views.
The singers belong to different regions of Laos – Sophana and Bigyai Seehalad are from Champasak province, GX2,T-James Uno from Khammuan province and Nutdao from Luang Namtha province - but all of them have the same aim of promoting Lao songs and music so that more and more youngsters in the country and abroad start tuning in to Lao music.
The singers also spoke about the Lao Language and the native languages of their provinces by giving the names of fruits, vegetables and food items, adding to the colourful nature of the programme.
All the singers also performed their popular songs such as “Yakpenloukkeui”, “Saichai Daitaemong” and “Phaeng-ai” on stage to entertain their Thai fans.
